Growing Undivided Hearts of Love for our Savior

Anniversary Weekend! July 28, 2009

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Andrew & Amanda LeJeune @ 4:16 pm

Andrew and I had a GREAT weekend together.  On Friday we got to cash in the two free 1 hour massages that I had won. A-mazing.  I love massages! Then we went to a baseball game in town.  A man that we buy a product from had mentioned having free tickets and so we got to go to the game for free and get the good ‘ol baseball corn dogs, hotdogs, and funnel cake.  So fun.   A course you have to wear baseball hats to a baseball game – duh! Picture 187Saturday morning Andrew made me breakfast in bed..well more like brunch.  I helped a little 😉 .  It was so sweet.  We sat up and talked about all the things that have happened the past year and how we’ve grown.  Picture 190

Then we had a sweet prayer time over this next year and crying out to God for him to provide a job for Andrew.  Afterward we opened our gifts to each other.  Andrew got a knife sharpener and I got a set of disc golf discs!

We played a round of disc golf and then came back to clean up and go to dinner at Messina Hof.  There Andrew shared his poem he had written me that made me cry.  It was really sweet.

Something Andrew was super excited about was picking out a scrapbook for us to make 2 pages for each anniversary.  We hope to keep it up.  The rule is we have to do it together.  It was fun to get all the paper/crafty stuff out and make a scrapbook together.  We had fun writing down each of our most impactful verses from the year, the best memory from each of us, and the ways we’ve grown.  I think it will be neat for us to go back and see what things God has done and give our kids a way to see how much we love each other and how many years God has given us together. We are so blessed.  God is rich in His mercy and grace over us.  And we LUB each utter so much!

Who Lives in a Pineapple Under the Sea? July 21, 2009

We had a sweet time in Galveston visiting Nana and being with Joseph and Courtney.  We learned a lot about each other thanks to Andrew’s many get to know you questions like, “Tell me the thing you most appreciate about your spouse and what is one of your fondest memories since you’ve been married?”

On our way there we had a little fiasco.  Right as we got into Houston we pulled over to let Honey go potty.  Once we thought she tinkled and all and set off again. Courtney was holding her in the car and all of sudden said, “What is on my hand?”  She looked down and saw some brown liquid.  Then it started smelling like poo.  EKK….Courtney got a little nauseous.  I was telling Andrew to pull over as soon as possible.  When I looked at Honey’s behind there was poo matted in her fur.  Yuck.  So we pull into this dealership and I run her into the bathroom and stick her under the sink to wash her off.  Then I’m looking around for some paper towels to dry her off.  None.  What they did have was an automatic sensor hand dryer.  SO there we are,  sticking Honey’s behind under a hand dryer back and forth.  Courtney and I started to crack up.  What was also hilarious was that as I was walking in with the puppy, Joseph saw a couple looking at me a little funny and I  heard him say, “Puppy emergency.” haha.  Gotta love it. 🙂

We went to the beach on Saturday and the guys made a sand castle.

We had a good 4 hours on the beach before it started raining on us.There were several thunderstorms this weekend.  In fact, we got hail and 65 mph winds in CS this weekend!! AND yesterday too.  Andrew and I ended up trying to go to my work last night and right as we got out on the road there were tornado watches, heavy rains and winds.  Scary. But cool at the same time.  Anyways…back to this weekend.  We had to give Honey to Nana.  She loved her! I was sad that we had to leave her though.  Maybe someday I can get a Honey Bear too.

We ate dinner on the Galveston Bay on Saturday night which was fun. Sunday we went to the beach and Joseph lead us in worship.  That was great.  The waves are so loud and it’s neat to be out in nature singing praises to God.  As we drove away from Nana’s I sad about leaving Honey and wishing we could take her home with us.   I told Andrew, “I’m sad…can we get Starbucks?!”  He laughed and agreed.  So we all stopped in and then decided since we didn’t have anywhere to be that evening and Ikea was so close and Courtney had never been that we’d stop by…..2 hrs later! we got in our car to finish our commute home.  haha.  Courtney and I had fun walking through and our men were awesome.  They made up a game to entertain themselves (the would each guess how many lights were on in each room and then whoever was closest won) the whole time and didn’t raze us for our desire to look and stop and ooo and awww over things.  🙂 Love you fellas!!

Everyone Needs A Little…. July 16, 2009

Sunshine! Summer goodness comin’ right up!

Lemonade

I am thankful and grateful to the Lord this morning and am listening to Kari Jobe’s new CD.  LOVE IT!! It’s so good and is ministering to me.   I was just listening to the song “Everyone Needs A Little” which just puts you in a good mood and I wanted to shower you with some sunshine through my cute glass pitcher filled with yummy homemade lemonade, brought to you by Andrew “the sweetest hubs in the world” LeJeune.  🙂

Thank you to everyone praying for Andrew’s interview.  He felt like he did really well on his part.   He felt like he answered the questions well.  Judging the interviewers response was a little hard, but we’ll see.  They are looking to hire someone pretty soon so the next interview if he gets one will be tomorrow or Monday.  I’m praying they call him today!  God’s will be done.

We are going to GALVESTON this weekend!!! whoop! The best part is that we’re going with Courtney and Joseph!!! They are such a blessing to us.  Their friendship is a treat.  So we’re going to hang out on the beach. That is if we don’t get rained out.  Weather.com says we’re supossed to have 30-40% chances of rain this weekend.  I won’t be too upset though; either we can play in the rain. YIPPEE. or we just thank God that he’s brought what so many people are needing.  Actually we could do both. Not sure what I am thinking there.  So we’ll be chillin’ and hanging with my Nana in G-town and with Joseph and Courtney.

This means we are giving back our precious little Honey Bear.  She’s getting more hilarious.  She’s barking a lot more, playing with her food, and doing an impersonation of a lion on the prowl for something to pounce on…namely a sock in this instance.  She just pounces away and growls at it and then hops over to the next thing 🙂  Such a fluffy little bunny of a dog we have!

Job Interview July 8, 2009

Filed under: General — Andrew & Amanda LeJeune @ 5:30 pm

Hey guess what?!….what?….okay. I’ll tell you.  Andrew got a call yesterday from Twin City Mission to have an interview for their Youth and Family Counselor position next Tuesday!  We were encouraged by the interview.  So please pray for that and for the interviewers that God would lead whoever needs to be in that position.  Pray for us to stay trusting in God, who is faithful and knows what we need and when we need it.  Thanks!

Puppy Love July 7, 2009

This past week was rough for us but God provided a bundle of sunshine and spunk for us last Wednesday night! We went to the mall to grab an American Cookie Company delicious double doozie cookie to share (which is a must for me whenever I go to the mall. Good thing I don’t go that often;).  We also wanted to lift our spirits by visiting the Puppy Store.  Andrew and I always visit the puppy store when we’re there because it just makes us happy to look at all the cute dogs.  We ended up at the Puppy Store first.  At the front window was the cutest little Shih Tzu/Bison Frise mixed puppy.  I asked if I could hold her.  She was so sweet and we remembered that this was the type of dog my Nana had been talking about wanting.  So we decided to call her and tell her that we found a sweet cute puppy for her.  We weren’t really telling her to get it, just that we found one that she would enjoy.  But she said, “Well, buy her for me!”  So we did just that.  An hour later we were walking out with a fluffy puff of joy and sweetness.  We were so giddy and excited.  God had sent us home with a sweet gift during a very difficult time for us.

This precious little one is named Honey.  And since she’s what’s called a “Teddy Bear” mix we gave her the middle name, Bear.  So Honey Bear. We haven’t received the best of nights’ sleep these few days, BUT she’s a treat.  We’re getting a good dose of what children MIGHT be like.  She cries at night and we’ve had to try our best to keep her awake so she sleeps through the night.  She just started to eat solid food and isn’t potty trained yet.  We’ll be giving her over to Nana next weekend when we go with Courtney and Joseph to Galveston. I’m way excited about that trip too. Honey likes to bite your toes and play tug-o-war. Picture 135

Not only did we get this sweetie, but Allison came to visit us this past weekend and it was so fun and relaxing.  We worked on wedding stuff, watched fireworks, watched Braveheart (Allison’s choice since it’s about Freedom), ate at Pepe’s for the first time, and did First Fridays in downtown Bryan (they have live jazz, old soda shop, and showed Casablanca on the outdoor theatre).

I’m really excited about this weekend and getting to hang out with some great sisters in Dallas.  Girl time is so good and needed!  I appreciate my friends dearly.

In other news, Andrew’s still plugging away at looking for a job.  We haven’t heard back any news at all regarding a few jobs that we were very positive and hopeful for, which is always hard.  But I know God is faithful to provide.  He will provide in our exact time of desperate need.  Please continue to lift Andrew up and for a job.  It seems God has had a purpose for Andrew still working as a bus washer/now waxer.  He’s been able to share Truth with guys while cleaning and has had some really good conversations.  So praise God for that!

I’ve started doing a short morning arms/shoulders/back toning routine.  It takes about 8-20 minutes, depending on if you have a little ball of fluff trying to bite your toes and your PJs 😉 It’s been a good way to wake up and makes me feel good knowing I’m being strengthened.

Here’s a verse that I’ve been remembering with me: “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall. ” Psalm 55:22
